Front Yard Completed

After the plants were all planted a layer of pea gravel was placed over the weed barrier.  A line of bricks was placed along the edge where the neighbors lawn was.  This worked out well.  Once the final bit of gravel was done, Claudette placed some large boulders and some of her garden art items.

A bench was placed near the house at the top of the lawn.  It is in the shade most of the day.

First they put down the week barrier and then put pea gravel over it.  This took a few hours in the morning while Q started planting on the North Side. He also cut down a Palm Tree with his chain saw.

This was done before the before the boys arrived to help with the construction.  There were tow sizes of Arizona River Rocks - Large and Small.  We also bought some boulders that were place later.

The whole family came over to help with the planting and other construction steps.  We had purchased plants and ordered 7 tons of rocks to complete the project.  We placed barrier material below the river rocks and the ground cover rocks.  Some work had been done before the boys arrived.

At first, the neighbor was not sure he wanted the grass removed so we just did our side.

Front Yard Lawn Removal - Jnauary 2016

We decided to remove tour front lawn in January 2016

There are two sides to our front year.  The South side which is shared with our neighbor and the North Side which is also shared.  As the South was so small we did both our part and the neighbors.

On the North, we did only removed our lawn.  Here is what it look like when we started.
